Would it be possible for you to put up a version of the template that will work in Visual Studio 2010 and with XNA Game Studio 4.0?

I don’t really need it in 2010 but I have it installed on both my main computer and my laptop.

It can be a good idea to disable “screensaver window on top” and “exit on mouse/keyboard action” in debug configuration. Can you change this in next version of template kit?
